Was on my way back from Rocky Mountain National Park and stumbled upon this place. I was pretty happy I did. The server was really nice, even allowing me to charge my phone there. It was my only source of navigation so I was grateful for that. I ordered the Chicken and Broccoli, nothing fancy, and it was enjoyable. The meal was what I needed and I will return if I'm ever in the area again. Definitely recommend!

Chinese in a ski town. I had my doubts, I'll admit. But we tried it anyway, and I'm very glad we did. I wanted to start with a Volcano since Peter M's review had me intrigued, but my party-pooper husband wasn't feeling the novelty that evening. So I selected the Hong Kong Sour instead and was pleasantly surprised with a perfectly spiked punch-like beverage served in a fabulous angry-faced mug. At $6.50, I was pleasantly surprised at the size of my libation. The menu is reminiscent of Cheesecake Factory when it comes to length/number of options. I wish they had more pictures/descriptions (ie, there are several non-descript options that give little to no indication of what the dish involves), but everyone usually has their staple Chinese favorite, and yours is likely on this menu. We started with a cup of soup - for me, the egg drop and my husband, hot and sour. Surprisingly notable was my husband's soup - probably the best hot and sour either of us has ever tasted. Just a slight sour kick with a sneaky and delicious peppery finish. Not a drop was left. For the main course, I opted for shrimp lo mein and my husband went with the twice cooked pork. Both hit the spot after a long day on the slopes. My lo mein was flavorful with tender noodles and not greasy. My husband's pork was tender and juicy, served with perfectly cooked shredded cabbage and enough steamed rice to feed a family of four. Needless to say, we had no room for dessert.

Awesome spot for Asian cuisine in Winter Park! We stopped here on a Saturday night and it was packed. We had a little bit of a wait but it wasn't horrible and was worth it. Service was great and dare I say, they had almost TOO big of a menu? I'm usually skeptical of mountain town restaurants but this place is the exception to the rule. Everything looked great so I went with chicken pad thai and it didn't disappoint! It was enough for two servings so I took half of it with me since we were heading home the next day and it was even better for leftovers! This place is tucked in the little shopping center but definitely worth a visit!

We were pretty impressed on the taste of the food. We ordered the crispy duck and combo lo-mein. We didn't expect much but quite tasty and enjoyed the food. Now the disappointment, if it wasn't for the service I would have rated this better. Whether they were short staffed or didn't plan better, the wait was way too long. It took us over 30 minutes to sit and then another 20 minutes to order our food, then another 30 minutes to get our food was a bit too much. Our 3 yr old daughter was with us so sitting at a place for that long....is not fun! We will definitely come back, but for take out, not sure I would want to endure the long wait again.

This restaurant serves both Chinese as well as American-Chinese faire. Solid service and even around 8PM they were still bustling. I remember the hot and sour soup real well. I ordered sizzling beef and scallops. After a long day of riding, this meal hit the spot and then some. Our waiter was awesome and joked with us plenty. I would be sure to come back. You could say this is like all other Chinese restaurants but for some reason it took me back to my childhood when my parents took us kids out. This is no PF Changs or electrified chic modern Chinese restaurant. This is traditional and good food and atmosphere!

My husband and I have been to this restaurant twice and really like it. The food is very good esp the chicken chow mien and the sesame chicken. They have some awesome drinks like the volcano for two that comes in this huge bowl that two can definitly enjoy! Good food and drinks for the price!

This is essentially the only Asian food you'll find in this Ski-Resort Town of Winter Park, CO. The five of us went to this restaurant because of all the glowing reviews on Yelp. However, if you are in a group of Five or more, I do not recommend this Restaurant. The food was actually decent and Asian tasting (meaning, not Anglicised) The sizes of the entrees weren't as large a portion as other Yelpers had mentioned. They were a decent size, but the meat to fluff ratio wasn't all that great. The old "Where's the Beef" Lady from Wendy's would be in full glory here. Judging from the products (Kirkland) they had propping doors open in the back (adjacent to the restrooms), a lot of their wholesale supplies come from Costco. So, you're probably wondering why I don't recommend this place for parties of 5 or more. Well, tacked onto the menu in tiny print, it states that parties of 5 or more get charged a mandatory service charge of 18%. (We essentially got reamed for going to a restaurant with two adults and three pre-teen kids) While our service wasn't bad, it wasn't great... especially when there was only one waiter waiting 5 tables (then a sixth, as we were preparing to pay). So, 18% is a bit steep even for "okay" service. When the bill arrived, I didn't realize all these charges were piling up. I also noticed the sales tax was more than 10% of the bill (Food subtotal was $29.40 and the sales tax was $3.08). I questioned the waiter and he told me "...the sales tax is 10.5%". I'm QUOTING. So, this is actually an outright lie, that I'll explain later. After leaving the restaurant, I looked up the sales tax in Winter Park, CO. The sales tax is in fact 8.9% Turns out, they added an 18% service charge on the sales tax. If you increase the sales tax of 8.9% by 18% you get 10.5%. (8.9 x 1.18 = 10.5). So, my sales tax also incurs a 18% mandatory gratuity charge? That's down right hilarious. So, ultimately the waiter lied to me when he told me the "...sales tax [was]10.5%..." What he should have told me was the sales tax was 8.9% but that I was also required to pay a mandatory service charge for the sales tax as well. So, based on the food, I would give it a decent rating (about a 3 star). However, business-practice-wise I would have to give this place a whopping 1-Star for reaming customers on the back end (the bill). I would give it a sub 1-Star if I could for lying to customers stating that the "...sales tax is 10.5%...". Again, I am Quoting. So, if you're stuck in this Ski Resort Town and come with a large party.... be sure to break up your party into groups of FOUR or less. You're essentially screwed if you have a family of five. I don't really mind paying a Gratuity of 18% if the service was good/great. I just don't like getting mediocre service and am sodomized into paying a service charge, then lied to stating the sales tax is 18% higher than it "factually" is. I also took pictures of the bill along with pictures of the Kirkland Oil Box holding the kitchen door open next to the bathroom. So, if anyone wants to question the authenticity of this review you can see my proof.

Chinese had been on our mind so we sought out this spot for lunch. It's in a nice shopping area and features the typical Chinese decor. We enjoyed watching the snow fall from the large windows. The service was a bit strange as we waited a few minutes before anybody noticed we were there, despite our fairly loud greetings of "hello..." Once served we reviewed the menu provided by the waitress who mid question darted from our table and said, "I'll be right back!" When she returned I asked if the egg rolls were vegetarian and she said no, that they had pork. Michal asked about a dish inquiring about the noodle side and when he requested pan fried noodles our waitress left again this time returning much more quickly with two new menus. "If you want pan fried noodles you have to order from dinner menu; it costs more," she remarked. We gave her the okay and I glanced at the appetizers of the new menu where I found vegetarian egg rolls. Hmmmm. I asked if I could order them and she shyly responded with yes. I ordered pad Thai and it was standard. Michal's pan fried noodles turned out to be lo mein. He said his was below average. We might give it another shot but we would change our orders.

I hate to give a one star but this Chinese food was not what we expected after reading all these great reviews. We were staying nearby for vacation and ordered some take out since the weather was a little unfriendly. Our order included: egg rolls, pork fried rice, broccoli beef, kung pao shrimp, chicken with orange flavor and chicken chow mein. When we went to pick up the order the lady said that there was soy sauce, sweet and sour sauce, and spicy mustard in the bag. When we arrived back at our place the only condiment inside was soy sauce with an extra two containers of white rice. The egg rolls were good but would've been better with dipping sauce. The pork fried rice was just some white rice with a little soy sauce mixed with peas and strips of unknown meat, nothing special. The kung pao shrimp was the best thing that we ordered. The "chicken with orange flavor" should have been a dead give away that it wasn't common orange chicken. The chicken had a weird texture and flavor that was not orange. The beef broccoli was standard. By far the worst thing we ordered was the chicken chow mein. I have never in my life seen chicken chow mein prepared the way it was here. We opened one take out container to find an onion chicken soup type thing and thought that they forgot our chicken chow mein until we opened a white bag with dried chow mein noodles from a can! One of our friends had seen this before and explained the way to eat it was to service yourself some chicken onion soup stuff and put the dried noodles on top. WTF? ew.. seriously ew. Maybe it's what CO considers Chinese food, and I love Colorado, but seriously? Go someplace else.

The service, food, and drinks were all wonderful. We were served complimentary hot tea, which was a pleasant surprise. The hot and sour soup was tasty. The combination lo mein was the best I've had (large and cleaned shrimp). The chicken curry was good. There was also a great lunch beer special where all beer was only $2.50 per bottle ;)

My husband and I, and friends, like to eat at the New Hong Kong Chinese restaurant, located on the top level of the Cooper Creek Square shopping center, in the middle of Winter Park, CO, for these reasons: We like their delicious food, with big portions (we take the extra food home for next day & even beyond)l Their chefs and wait staff are friendly and nice. And: They let us have substitutions, when we ask for those. For example, I usually order the New York Strip steak done Chinese style, but I often substitute chicken and tofu, for the steak. That sauce is scrumptious (yummy), and it's the same sauce as the one used for the N.Y. strip steak dish! They are close to us, and easy to get to. The dining room is spacious, has good vibes, and has lots of big windows, so that we can look out and see the beautiful "Front Range" of our Rocky Mountains, to the east. We can also people-watch, if we wish, by looking down on the courtyard below. Or, they have 2 TV's for those near their bar. I've also eaten there alone, and felt comfortable doing that. The New Hong Kong is one of the best restaurants in Winter Park, in my opinion. Lastly, but not least, they have a heart--they gave their previous big fish, that had outgrown their fishtank, away, to swim freely, in a pond somewhere, that was in a warmer area.

One word. Volcano. Now a series of words: Try taking on more than two of these behemoths by yourself, and you will likely end up naked with a stranger somewhere. A bowl of flaming booze accompanied by an extra long straw, it only takes a few slurps to get the party started. Oh, and there's food.

For being in the mountains, we didn't expect much from this place. However Upon arrival we were pleased from the get-go. The staff was very friendly and the food was much better than expected. We tried the shrimp wonton, garlic chicken, ad kung pao chicken with fried and steamed rice. Everything was delicious!!! We will definitely go back when we return.

It was agreed, this is possibly the best Chinese we've had in Colorado after living here for three years. New Hong Kong is family owned by two brothers and they are ready to please! My boyfriend and I debated BBQ, Indian, Italian but the Chinese restaurant looked so inviting and delicious. We each got soup (hot & sour and egg drop,) shared an order of crab ragoons and a dinner entree of General's Chicken. The spice and texture of the chicken was perfect. We were using our fingers to eat the leftover sauce. With a few green onions in the mix, I will ask for extra next time. We were given two, free dessert scoops of green tea ice cream which was the perfect finale. Everything came soo fast, drinks, food, check. Family and date friendly. We can't wait to go back! The restaurant is located on the third floor in the downtown Winter Park square area. The next day we met an English couple from London, mentioned where we ate and they exploded with excitement. It's their favorite Chinese to eat when they travel to CO. We knew we weren't just starving. This place is 5 stars!

Stopped in for a Chinese takeaway on our way home from a trip. Called in our order on the last switchback, and picked it up driving through town... perfect timing! The food was delicious and plentiful - we ordered a chicken dish and a veg fried rice - it would have fed 3 people easily.... if you want fast, tasty food, definitely try here. I've eaten in also, and it's always been excellent service that matches the food.

My wife, myself, and all of our friends completely love this restaurant! The food is amazing...everything we have eaten here for the last 15+ years has always been consistently delicious, and well-prepared. They only use fresh vegetables, and never use MSG. We are always treated like family, too. Their staff is overly friendly, the portions are always super generous, and the cocktails are inventive, strong, and served in really cool thematic glassware. They also have a very nice wine list. We highly recommend that you stop here for either lunch, (great value!) and/or dinner. You will be happy that you did!

Mediocre Chinese food. Fried dumplings were chewy. Lo mein noodles were thicker than I expected. I talked to some locals at the bar who really liked it, so I'll probably try it again.

Excellent Orange Beef and the woman (I assume owner) who assisted us getting our take out was incredibly friendly. Frankly, the food was excellent as we also had General Chicken and Egg fried rice (not pork fried but just fried rice with egg and peas and a few other things). Everyone raved about it. I would absolutely recommend this place for take out. I did not dine in but I assume given the nature of the person we spoke with the experience would be equally as good.

Maybe I'm prejudiced because there are so many good Chinese restaurants in California... But I have to remind myself this place was out in the middle of nowhere, basically... My friend took me up to Winter Park so I could see the snow on my last day in Denver. We got up there hungry so decided to stop. There really aren't that many restaurants in Winter Park, so your options are limited. The teapot we got was cool, as in not warm. How do you mess up tea? I ordered the single entree lunch. Sweet and sour chicken, it came with rice, a lobster ragoon, an egg roll, and a cup of egg drop soup. Soup, it was bland, I had to add saracha just to make it bearable. The sweet and sour was all sauce, very little of anything else. I had no idea what a lobster ragoon was, but it wasn't too bad. Too bad I couldn't taste any lobster in it... My friend ordered the Thai Stir Fry with Beef. It was beef, veggies, and a brown colored sauce that was so watery, it had no flavor. I don't think I'll ever be going back, and would definitely not recommend it.

Came here with a large group. Service was good, price was fair, and the food was excellent. The place was about 3/4 full on a Friday night. Good stuff to order: chow mein, crispy duck,. Also pretty good: Mongolian beef, beancurd- Chung King style. Also, parking's free in the garage, and the location has some nifty bars/shops for pre-post dinner.

Pretty Good. I'd go back for more Chinese food. We had shrimp lomein - I'd ask for no bamboo shoots next time- Mongolian beef and general Tso's chicken. I ate the left overs the next day.

Hot & sour soup here is the best I have ever had. If every dish of our family style dinner had been as tasty as the soup, I might have had to move to Winter Park for good. As the remaining dishes were all very good, but not outstanding, I will continue to reside in good ol' Austin, TX. New Hong Kong offers a family style option that includes an assortment of appetizers as well as sou and one entree per person in the group. The entrees for five included shredded pork, shrimp with veggies, orange beef, cashew chicken, as well as beef and scallops. My favorite out of this group was the orange beef. It had just the right amount of citrus flavor. Yummy! If I make it back to Winter Park anytime in the future, New Hong Kong will definitely make my list of restaurants I would like to visit again. Almost forgot to mention... Although it is definitely a potent concoction, I didn't find the Volcano drink to be particularly tasty. Strong yes, tasty no.

Chinese food in the mountains? Absolutely! Not only Chinese, but the Thai and Vietnamese items were tasty as well. This is one of the better Chinese spots in all of CO. One of my large complaints is often service. This is not a place where you have to worry. We were promptly greeted, seated and served with courtesy. The meals were all more than ample, and could even be shared pretty easy between light eaters. The Orange Beef seemed to be the consensus winner at our table, though the curry was pretty splendid as well.

Some items this place does great, and some things I've had better elsewhere closer to home. I am giving New Hong Kong 5 stars because the service was excellent and everything we had was pretty darn good, especially considering the options in the area. This place is a gem in Winter Park. We had their egg drop soup, wonton soup, egg rolls, pan fried pork dumplings (VERY GOOD), the Volcano drink, Pad Thai and Cashew Chicken. The prices were a little bit higher then average where I live, but not too bad for what you get. I've had bigger portions for a little less, but don't worry you will leave here very full. If you can, try and make it in for lunch to save yourself a little $. I'm sure we'll be back next time we are in town.

We're regulars in WP and Fraser, so i'm kind of surprised we hadn't found this place sooner. It's kinda hidden in the Cooper Creek square, up on the top floor in a back corner. But it's worth the trek! Best Asian we've found in the mountains, and even better than most of the Asian restaurants in Denver. The sesame tofu was fabulous ... light and crispy, spicy and sweet, all together in a yummy square! The broccoli in garlic sauce was also very spicy and flavorful. The service is very courteous and quick (although i could do without the competing sounds of music and the bar's TV). All in all, it was a very pleasant dining experience. We look forward to going back!

Our table of 4 agreed on the rating. We split the meals: half Chinese, half Thai. Thai won the day, with an excellent yellow shrimp curry, but the other meals (most veggie) were not too bad. For ~$8.50 for a broccoli in garlic sauce dish, the prices were reasonable. The tea was hot, the server was friendly, the rum drinks packed a satisfying wallop, and the food was good. The only downer was the inanity of the fortune cookies' fortunes. "You like to smile and laugh" is not exactly telling me about the future. C'mon, cookies--give me a hint about tomorrow. I know you have the power...

Food is very good, service is great. I have had better Chinese food for sure, but we have to remember that this restaurant is in the Fraser Valley, not known as a hub for ethnic food. I have worked at the resort for 5 years and we get takeout from here regularly. I've had the orange beef, mu shu pork, cashew chicken, pork dumplings, all of the soups, and they are all very good. I'm not a big drinker, but the one volcano I have had there (shared with 2 other people) was very good and VERY potent. Be forewarned. :)

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

What he should have told me was the sales tax was 8.9% but that I was also required to pay a mandatory service charge for the sales tax as well.

Very nice owners and staff! One of my favorites is their Sesame Tofu. Consistant food and service :)

Great food. Excellent lunch specials until 3pm - u get entree plus rice, soup, and egg roll all for around $8. Try sesame beef. Hot and sour good too. Right on free shuttle line.

Average ski town Americanized Chinese food. Nothing special, just traditional comfort food. Reasonable prices for the area.

Hot & Sour soup amazing! Veggie fried rice is delicious. Food seemed freshly prepared and quality ingredients. Will absolutely return.

One word.

The staff was friendly and quick. The lunch specials are really cheap and you get a ton of food. Would totally recommend to anyone looking for decent meal at a great price.

Their Volcanoes are AWESOME! Big blue bowl of alcohol and a shot of flaming 151 in the middle! Customer service is great too

we chose to get take out here tonite, which was a regretable move imo. the fish w ginger scallion was scraps of shitty quality "white fish" with a really mushy and thick breading. i literally could not stomach more than 2 bites and i hope i don't end up w food poisoning....this fish was pretty dodgy! my friends got the mu shu pork and said it was acceptable.....in 2 words, WEAK SAUCE
